Celery is one of the most commonly eaten vegetables in the United States which is normally used in soups, salads etc. It reduces inflammation in digestive track that’s caused due to irregular food habits and skipping food. This helps in reducing blood pressure, Prevents cancer, normalizes body temperature, reduces signs of aging, keeps you away from gallbladder stones, it also improves Vision. Having a big list of good qualities, we should definitely not miss Celery in our Kitchen. Here is a simple recipe for all those who love tasty healthy food.
- 2 Pods of garlic
- 1 yellow onion
- 1 medium size tomato
- 1 spoon chili powder
- 1 spoon coriander powder
- 1 bundle of Celery or add celery as per requirement. This measurement can serve two adults.
- ½ Spoon oil
- Pinch of Mustard seeds
- ½ Spoon fennel seeds
- Pinch of Hing or Asafoetida
- 2 Curry leaves
Keep the pan in medium flame and add ½ spoon of oil, ½ spoon fennel seeds, curry leaves to it. Once it starts spluttering, add finely chopped garlic, chopped onions and tomatoes and sauté well.
Now add the finely chopped celery and saute well. Close the pan with a lid and Keep this in low flame for ten min so that Celery gets cooked well. Now take off the lid and add 1 tablespoon chili powder, 1 tablespoon coriander powder, pinch of Hing or Asafoetida, salt as needed. Pour half cup of water and let this cook for ten minutes in medium flame. Now you have tasty Celery gravy ready.
This can be had along with Rice, Roti, Bread etc.
